Skills USA Program
The Capitol City Corvette Clubs largest activity
is an annual community car show. Our club has hosted a show at
Irmo
High School
in Irmo South
Carolina
for the past eight years. The show benefits the Skills USA Program which
provides vocational / technical training to over 90 Irmo High School
students. During
the eight years we have staged the show, the club has raised and donated
over $20,000 to the program. This has historically been our biggest
event, consuming the most time but yielding a good benefit to the
school. Funds are raised through entrance fees and the selling of food
and beverages. This show, usually held in early fall, has historically
been our principal fund raising activity.
Tom Anderson, CCCC Car Show Chairman, presents a check in the amount of $4000 to Phil Tanner, Skills USA coordinator at Irmo HS.
